So Long Sojourn

Well, here I am rushing to get things into a pack that I haven't used in more than 8 months...it should feel so familiar; yet, I'm left with adrenaline pushed into my veins via the needle of uncertainty in what should set itself before my eyes upon the first step into Kiwi-land: I Love This!

I don't even have time to update this to a sufficient standard...well, to mine. So I'll say nothing of the books that have passed over my life in the last 2 months--sickening it's been that long--I won't mention "Orpheus Emerged" by Kerouac, another great opener, nor "Against All Enemies" by Richard Clark or any other of the political revelations that are published daily. To the current governance of my country: I'm ashamed you've taken away the very essence of what it means to be an "American"...not too much longer will people be telling others how much they want our lives and the dream to just reach these shores...it makes it that much easier to depart the land of the ostensibly free.

I say goodbye with not a tear in my eye for the future holds something for me that a tearful eye cannot see. The only book I will say something about is "Demian" by Herman Hesse which I read after the renown "Steppenwolf". Hesse is one of my favorite writers and his literary genius to convey the dichotomy of humanity; the state of being torn by different desires and morals is what makes his work so classic. I've just bought "Narcissus and Goldmund" for my journey and I know it will be nothing short of everything I need as I lift off into the land of the rising sun.

To the people I've met here...you know who you are, and although I meant to script something special for you and can't see it to the finish, I will say that those of you who are reading this have touched my life immensely; in only the way that those with whom you work can. I was elated to have met you and will take a piece of each of you with me into the orient as I grow. I can only offer my written thank you and the smiles already passed. Thank you for the music brother...you've enriched me more than I ever dreamed...and well...you're a funny focker Too; pass me a cherub's Brew. To another, make money and do with it what you wish; but I hope you dedicate your heart to everything that the lens provokes in you. I'll seek the Flor de Loto, and I'll seek much more. Although I'll be a closer forever, I've been cut...86 murr.

Enough sentimentality...my mind has already begun dripping into the eastern world; the mystique, the devotion to life and all its constituents, and to a freedom unparalleled I commence.

I will share so much of the journey through narration and through pictures to the left sidebar there; however, I'm doing this for me and me alone. This is something I've seen coming for a long time, and now the moment is before me. I'll live it thoroughly before I ever sacrifice any experience just to document it. That being said...indulge, for it will be special.

I've changed the title of this blog because I've said goodbye to the Souther Sojourn State, and now begin to intoxicate myself with all the vices of a travaller, of a roving soul, of a vagabond. Cheers Atlanta; and I depart...

Murray-
Go....live....be free....beat out your own rhythm in this world like a drum, tight and hard.
May you forever be captured by the beauty and mystery of the unknown.

Cheers,
Katie
